Health Family had previously been assisted between 1993 and 1996 when Diego’s late brother had the same disease that is bringing them back, sickle cell anemia. Regular (controlled)
Housing In very bad condition: one room with precarious roof and walls, no floors. Family received housing assistance. House now has cement floor and is in good condition.
Income Mother works sporadically cleaning houses, and earns $60 monthly. The mother now earns $250 monthly as a housekeeper and receives health benefits for Diego.
Education Diego is enrolled in school but he is not able to attend due to the illness.  At the time he had had been admitted to Hospital da Lagoa. Diego is back in school.

Health Clinical state critical. The child receives assistance from ABBR (Rehabilitiation Center) and needs a wheelchair. Disease controlled with continuous use of medicine. José Igor received a donated wheelchair.
Housing Family pays rent ($60 monthly.) Renascer helped the family with the purchase of a house.
Income $50 per month. Solange completed her cooking course and received utensils and house equipment to start cooking and continuing catering. Her monthly earnings rose to $280.
Education Only Jose’s brother, Vinicius, goes to school, but has low school performance.  Solange attends a nurse preparatory course. Brother is now in 7th grade and sister is in day care.  Solange seeks to keep investing in her catering career.
Citizenship The family does not have social security and transportation benefits. The family received transportation and social security benefits.
